Has anyone ever been on trips with Contiki? How would rate them?

My friends and I are planning a trip to Europe for this May and Contiki is one of the options.
We want to basically go to London, Paris and Rome in our trip.
Ive read some reviews about Contiki and some arent that pleasant.
Are their trips always group-based or can you go and do your own thing, sort of like a leisure-based trip.
And what about their hotels? Ive read some reviews with people who were put up in very bad accommodation.

I just need an idea of the “Contiki Experience” to see if its worth it.

Oh and the one we are looking at right now is for 11 days, based in London, Paris and Rome…is about 2 days enough in each city to do the sightseeing?

Thanks.

Contiki is definitely not worth it. I went on one, and found out a week later that I could have done the exact same thing for hundreds less. It was pretty crap. Hotels, were low end, definitely but I never felt unsafe. Also Contiki is VERY rushed. I didn’t get to explore and stuff as much as I wanted to. 2 days is ok, but I would suggest at least 3 days, for your trip. I now travel with Ef college break, because after I traveled with Contiki, i didn’t want to travel with them ever again. Ef coll. break includes round trip airfare (contiki doesnt, you have to arrange your own transportation) hotels, all transfers, entrances to select attractions, ect (they pay for the eifel tower, colleseum, ect) You should take a look at it, its a 18-26 thing though. If you do end up wanting to use Ef coll. break though, i have a promo code for them, its hesseln1188 and it saves you like $100. If you do end up wanting to still travel with contiki though,i would suggest traveling though a partner site, because it will get you usually a 5% dicount. Good luck!
