london trip.?

I am going to London and Scotland with my mom’s good friend. I was wondering if 1500 american dollars will get me far there. I have been to England before but I didn’t really need to spend any money there cuz I was with my family. My mom’s friend said that she would pay for special meals and theater tickets so if I pay for hotel and airfare will $1500 get me far for 14 days?

If you’re traveling in the summer months during peak tourism airfare alone will be nearly half that amount. Plus transportation between London and Scotland will be expensive whether you’re taking air, train or bus. You might be able to do it if you were staying for a week or less, but it’s physically impossible to do 14 days with this low amount.

Flight – approx $600 (that’s cheap for summer flights if you live on the East Coast of the US, if you live farther away it will cost much more)
Transportation to Scotland and for Tube around London – approx $200 (again estimating on the low end)
Cheap B&B accomodation (40 pounds per night = $80 per night x 14) – $1120

Total is $1920 and we haven’t even covered the meals you will be paying for, admission to sites and anything else you may want to buy. Plus the prices I estimated are on the low end assuming you do everything the cheapest way possible. I’m sorry but I think you will need to save up at least another $700.
