Do you have an recommendations for hotels in London? (Not hostels)?

Looking for a B&B or smaller, boutique hotel. Would prefer to not stay in a chain hotel.

I looked into London accommodations for a possible vacation last year and found the hotels to be very expensive. Have you looked into what are known as “self catering apartments”? You can rent a house, condo or apartment through a private party. You don’t get room service or daily housekeeping, but it’s usually cheaper, and I think a more authentic experience. I found this to be a much better alternative to a hotel when my husband and I rented a condo for a week in Canada earlier this year. The site we used was http://rentalo.com/
