3 star hotels in london
I was staying at a hotel, the lights went out for a whole night. Who should I be complaining to?

I was staying at a 3 star hotel in London and on th second night of my stay the lights went out, It was freezing, no hot water, etc AND the alarms went on 3 times in the middle of the night!!!

I heard some other guest in the morning saying that they should have emergency lights and that he would complain.

If I wanted to complain, who should I complain to? (ie some organization responsible for quality of hotels?!)

I can understand that you want to complain, but what is your objective? Do you want a remedy ? Some consideration ? What do you want ?

The first step is the hotel manager. Give him/her a call. Tell them what you want and ask for what is reasonable giving your reasons as to how it affected you. Explain that you did not get what you paid for and you would like some compensation.

This is the best way.

Some folks book through a reliable web booking service and those folks have a bit of “clout” … like cheaper than hotels, Expedia or Travelocity etc etc.

But it’s always better to do it yourself. And be persistant with a smile :) …… rely on the truth ….. you paid for a service, and the service broke down, please compensate me.
